Words of Life Daily Prayer Guide
 

Prayer was God's idea! If He did not care about meeting needs, He would not assign us the job of praying to Him! "Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and no give up." Luke 18:1 (NIV).

God has set up a spiritual legal system on the earth where we ask, then He answers. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matt. 7:7-8 (NKJ). "In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." Phil. 4:6 (ASV).

There are conditions and requirements for prayers to be answered. Knowledge of what is God's will, proper motives, and most of all having faith when we pray - all make a big difference in receiving answers to our prayers. "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Matt 21:22 (NKJ).

There is an enemy who opposes the answers to our prayers. our problems may look like they have visible causes, but the Bible tells us otherwise. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Eph. 6:12 (NKJ). Prayer is what overcomes the obstacles.

God wants to fellowship with us through prayer, and He desires (and deserves) our praises. So what are we waiting for? Let's have a vibrant, enjoyable, productive daily prayer life with God!

THE LORD'S PRAYER MODEL:
 

1. [Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.]

Begin with praise and worship.

2. [Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven]

Pray for God's will in your life.

Proclaim His Word.

3. [Give us this day our daily bread.]

Pray for current needs.

Ask specifically.

4. [And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.]

Confess any sins.

Forgive other people.

5. [And lead us not into temptation.]

Pray to overcome temptation, learn from God's Word and other people's lives.

6. [But deliver us from evil]

Use your authority in Jesus' name.

7. [For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen]

End in praise and worship.

CHECKLIST TO INCREASE ANSWERS TO PRAYER:
 

01. Did you pray to the Father, asking in the name of Jesus? (John 16:23)

02. Did you ask specifically? (Matt. 7:7, 8)

03. Did you find and incorporate scripture to support your request? (John 15:17, 1st John 5:14, 15)

04. Did you pray with pure motives? (James 4:2-3)

05. Is there iniquity in your heart causing God not to hearken to your prayer? (Psa. 66:18-19)

06. Did you pray sincerely and earnestly? (Matt. 6:5, James 5:16)

07. Did you believe that you received when you prayed? (Mark 11:22-24, Matt. 21:21-22)

08. Did you thank God for it? (Phil. 4:6,7)

09. Have you forgiven all other people? (Mark 11:25-26)

10. Have you put God first place in your life? (Matt. 6:33, 1st John 5:21)

11. Did you write the request down on paper? (Hab. 2:2-3)

12. Have you taken appropriate corresponding action? (James 2:22, 26, Gal. 6:7, Luke 6:38)

13. Have you done spiritual warfare for it? (Eph 6:12, 2nd Cor. 10:3-5)
